Do You Know Your Corporate Values?

do-you-know-your-corporate-values

My corporate values are based on four pillars I have relied upon during my professional career.

This is the foundation of the core corporate values which underpin my businesses and way of doing business.

When people ask me to share business advice from my experience, identifying your values is high up the list.

So, what are the four pillars on which my corporate values are based?

Trust – If you want to get anywhere in life or business, you have to believe in yourself, which is different to confidence, and you have to trust those around you. We all get our fingers burnt by trusting the wrong people, but don’t lose the desire to trust people and let them in

Curiosity – Intellectual curiosity sustains us because it leads towards desire, inquisitiveness and inspires passion and enthusiasm. Having curiosity is a great attribute to have in a person doing any job

Spirit – If you have this, your actions become more consistent with your own beliefs and values and it comes from making everyday decisions and choices

Heart – When you find a connection, in life or work, that fills you with energy and gives you purpose, it should make you feel committed. It should turbocharge not only your heart, but your brain too. Purpose and meaning can really change a lot!

My corporate values and personal values are built on this foundation, and I always want my values to be shared in all my businesses, and by all my colleagues and partners.

This is the heart of what I and my businesses do and should not only drive actions and decisions, but should be echoed internally and externally.

This will deliver long-term growth.

So, what are these values?

Enjoy what you do – Love and enjoy what you do and have fun doing it, whether that is in work or life

Act with integrity – Stand by your morals and ethics as this allows you to act with honesty, self-respect and truthfulness

Be part of the team –Respect and support your colleagues and peers; be thoughtful and mindful so you can pull together as a team

Always do more – Ask yourself could I and can I do more? Dig deep and go the extra mile

Be better than yesterday – Be the best version of you; push yourself and be better than yesterday

I have said this before and will again, but I like to ensure everyone who works for and with me understands they have my full support to grow as part of my team. I want to see them all evolve, so encourage them to demonstrate these values.

These are not just values that I have, but are values which I believe most people should have.
