What are your mission and vision?
Starting up a business or going into a career without having a mission or vision is as good as traveling without a destination.
Ask yourself why you are taking this path and what you stand to achieve.
Mission and vision can relate to an organisation’s purpose and be communicated in written form. The organisation’s mission and vision statements answer questions about what it is, its values, and where the company is going.
It is crucial to develop a mission and vision for your company, as this will help to bring about strategic direction.
Having a mission and vision doesn’t only apply to businesses but also to you.
There has to be a plan and a set goal to enable you to develop to your full potential. I do not embark on anything without asking why I need to, my goals, and how I intend to accomplish my vision.
A vision is an essential component of a company’s strategy. It helps to set priorities, locate resources, and ensure that everyone is working toward common goals and objectives. It provides a road map for your company’s future.
I believe in instilling values from the ground up, serving as the foundation for decision-making.
The Dream of a Child
A child can dream of being an astronaut or a pilot, because they are fascinated by anything that flies.
Achieving these goals can be tough. It takes time, study, and commitment. Sadly, many young dreamers don’t have the dedication it takes to reach these early ambitions.
I was much the same early on, lacking a vision and goal I was prepared to give everything to. But that was the younger me; the older me knows better.
Now when I set my heart to something, I first think of my mission and what I hope to achieve from it. So far, it’s been going great.
Milestones to Achieving Your Vision
To have a vision is one thing; to achieve it is something else altogether. There are values you need to have to help achieve your set goals.
Some of those values are:
Integrity: you have to be transparent in all your dealings, trustworthy, and eager to do the right thing.
Being the best version of yourself: ensure that you do your best in all you do. Grab every opportunity to be the best of yourself, share ideas with your team, and share your knowledge with them.
Believing in yourself: you will find that no one believes in you more than you believe in yourself. Learn to trust yourself, overcome your fears and love yourself.
There are other milestones in achieving your vision, but these will take you far.
