You’ve heard the phrase work-life balance, but do you understand it? More importantly, do you have it?
Often, the stresses and strains of precedence in life. We put our well-being on the back burner.
Creating a work-life balance is vital for physical, emotional, mental well-being, and professional success.
You may be living with increased responsibilities, burnout, lost time with loved ones, and fatigue. The secret to your happiness and success is maintaining a stellar work-life balance built seamlessly into your lifestyle.
Where to Start
Maslow’s hierarchy strongly influences my approach. Theoretically speaking, Maslow elucidated on an individual’s self-actualisation needs.
Beyond one’s basic survival needs, one also has an inherent need to pursue self-development. This is only possible when one can identify their growth needs and make space for them.
This is the essence of your healthy lifestyle.

What Can You Do?
Identify Your Goals – Define your work goals to maximise productivity. This is the only way to focus on high-priority tasks instead of non-essential ones.
Manage Your Time – Time management is a skill that you need to learn through discipline and practice. The key is never to overbook yourself and give yourself some space to be flexible with your time.
Physical Activity – By simply dedicating your time outdoors and engaging in physical activity, you can generate enormous endorphins to boost your mood and energy.
What Should I Not Do?
Ignore Your Instincts – Listening to my gut instinct has helped me steer myself in the right direction in life. This is especially true when facing challenging situations. Tune into your instincts during this time.
Indulge in Non-obligatory Tasks – The most time-consuming and draining work does not serve any purpose or your interests. Some jobs are undoubtedly essential, but if you can choose, avoid taking up such tasks and delegate.
Stop Your Personal Interests – Unplugging and spending time on your personal interests is important. Whether it is time with your family or your hobbies, try to spend as much time as possible. If you ditch your interests, you are denying yourself a chance to seek the pleasures of life.
